Step-by-step Tutorial

An end to end walkthrough from backup to transfer to approval to recovery.

Let's assume that a user, named Alice, wants to backup her mnemonic passphrase. To do so, she will use a single-use Keplr wallet, your email address and one of her friend Bob (since at least one Passphrase Lock shares needs to be created). The step-by-step process for backing up her passphrase is detailed here.

When the time comes to recover her passphrase, Alice will first create a new single-use Keplr wallet and ask her friend Bob to send the Passphrase Lock Share back to this recovery wallet. The step-by-step process for Bob to transfer his share is detailed here.

Once Bob has transferred his share, Alice must approve it first before holding it in her wallet. The step-by-step process for Alice to approve this transfer is detailed here.

When finally Alice has enough Passphrase Lock Shares in her recovery wallet, she can recover her passphrase by following the step-by-step process detailed here.
